It started on 23. November 2019

After we finally installed a reliable boiler it was time to hide the mechanical area upstair from view with a new wall in our “Technical Balcony”. We had already decided using the same wooden wall panelling as elsewhere in the living room for the new wall and made sure to save ourselves some time and buy them during our last stay in September. In the middle of building the wall, we figured out that we did not have enough panels. Did my calculation skills go wrong somewhere? So we prepared ourself for a half day trip to Landivisiau to buy one more package of panelling. There was just enough wood to finish and still allow David to build two wooden fish functioning as door handles. They looked great and fit to the overall design of Sandpiper Cottage by the Sea. After three days hard work and a lot of back pain, we were really happy with the final result!

Finally Finished

Today we had time for a nice walk on the coast after finishing the technical balcony. The weather was an incredible storm with winds up to 100 km/hour and lots of rain. Luckily though, the sun shone every afternoon for a couple hours, leaving our battery pack consistently charged to 100%. Hurray, free energy without EDF!  The sun is still warm here at end of November compared to Amsterdam. What a great seaside vacation rental in Brittany our Sandpiper by the Sea will be for the lucky few! It has truly turned out to be exactly what we wanted, a cozy cottage in the middle of nature.

My Journey in Photography: Photography has fascinated me since my youth. I started with black-and-white photography and spent hours in a room with red light and strong chemicals developing photos. Today, I am discovering digital photography as a medium of endless possibilities. After studying aeronautical engineering, I worked for decades in the aviation industry and am now focusing on further developing my creative side. I find beauty in the subtle and often overlooked details. I create images that tell stories in a unique and thought-provoking way. My work is mostly about urban scapes. I capture the essence and hidden corners of the world I wander through. Join me on a journey to discover unseen beauty and stories from life.
